Heavy traffic jams were witnessed at various places on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in this district today. Vehicles were stuck in the long queues running for several kilometers from Nashri to Nachlana here, sources said.
The passengers, commuters and drivers alleged mismanagement and poor traffic regulation by the authorities on the road.
However, the traffic police, Ramban said that on Sunday evening two loaded trucks had turned turtle on the highway near Nachlana. “As there is no place for diversion of traffic, it caused traffic jam on the highway,” they said. “Machines were pressed into service for the rescue and the traffic was resumed later,” they said.
