Unscheduled power cuts irk Ramban residents

Consumers across this hilly district of Ramban  are having a hard time this winter due to frequent and unscheduled power cuts.

Electricity supply remained affected at district headquarter town Ramban Batote Chanderkote Ramsu Gool Sangaldan Ukhral Khari and Banihal since Sunday evening.

   

Engineers of PDD said it was caused by the failure of transmission to the district from Kishan our Manwal in the month of March 2020. The problem was never resolved till to date.

Engineers claimed that we are working hard to restore transmission to update and ensure the system works as quickly as possible. The incessant rains have created problems for the consumers of PDD of Ramban district.

According to insiders, the electric transmission tower at Dalwass has collapsed due to a landslide in the month of March 2020 the entire Grid system providing electricity to various substations got affected across the district.

Eclectic engineers claim electricity generated at power plants and moves through a complex system sometimes called the grid of electricity transformers and power lines that connect electricity producers and consumers.

Most local grids are interconnected, which enhances the coordination and planning of electric supply.
