Water scarcity irks Kishtwar residents

The residents of Link Road, Marwah Colony and Gurian of Kishtwar are irked over the acute shortage of drinking water, alleging that the concerned department has failed to supply water to their localities.

While talking to Greater Kashmir, the residents said, “Despite tall claims, the authorities have failed to ensure water supply. We are forced to fetch water from distant areas. Despite our repeated requests, the concerned department has failed to restore water supply to our area since the past few days.”

Aron Sajad, a resident of Marwah Colony, said, “The claims of authorities to provide round-the-clock water supply has proven to be a hoax. We do not have water even for ablution.”

The residents urged the concerned department to restore the supply at an earliest.

Meanwhile, the residents of Indira Nagar, Hidyal, Akhyarabad, Gudhali, Malipeth, Shakti Nagar, Poochal, Matta, Hatta, Sanghrambhata, and Zargar Mohollaha also claimed to be facing acute shortage of water.
