The residents of Seri village are facing acute shortage of water as the concerned department has allegedly failed to restore water supply to the registered customers since over a week.
The irked locals said, “The department has failed to provideus with water. We are suffering due to severe water scarcity since over a week.We do not have water to cook, to drink or for other basic amenities.”
They said that the village has two water storage tanksattached to a water supply scheme, but the issue still persists.
“The employees of the concerned department have failed tomaintain and repair the main gravity line. They have left it all on God’s mercy,”the agitated residents said, adding that they brought the issue into the noticeof the assistant executive engineer, PHE sub-division, Ramban, but “nothing hasbeen done yet”.
On being contacted, Nisar Ahmed, junior engineer of thedepartment, said, “We have sent some employees to repair the gravity line,which had broken down. Hopefully it will be restored soon.”
