Woman among two arrested, 1.125 kg charas recovered

Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two people, including a woman, and recovered 1.125 kg of charas (cannabis) at Sadeeqabad area of Doda.

The police said, “On a specific information regarding drug peddling at Sadeeqabad, a team from Doda police station, led by SHO Sunil Sharma and SI Firdous Ahmed along with executive magistrate, raided and conducted search in the house of a woman drug peddler. She has been identified as Shakeela Begum alias Taya.”

   

During search, 1.125 kg of charas was recovered from her possession. 

An FIR was registered and police are investigating the case further.

“On her disclosure, another drug peddler, identified as Sheraz Ahmed, partner of the accused woman, was also arrested,” DySP headquarters Doda Iftkhar Ahmed said, adding that further investigation to know their links with other drug peddlers is going on.
