Several youth engaged by a company for security of work sites on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway here held protests seeking release of wages pending for the last six months.
The security guards held protest at administrative complexof the company at Dalwass Ramban. They alleged that the assurances given tothem by Jammu-based contractor for releasing their salary have proved to be ahoax.
“We have time and again taken up the matter with thecontractor but expect for hollow promises we got nothing. “The Eid isapproaching and we have been left high and dry. We will intensify our protestif our genuine demands are not fulfilled,” they said.
They appealed to the Governor’s administration and DeputyCommissioner Ramban to intervene in the matter.
