Zeashta Devi Prabandhak Committee reviews arrangements for Mahayagya

The executive committee of Zeashta Devi Prabandhak Committee (ZDPC) reviewed preparations for annual Mahayagya scheduled to be held at Zeathyar here.

In a statement, general secretary of the committee RakeshKoul said during the meeting it was conveyed to the members that this year thebirthday of Mata Zeashta falls on 23 May. He said as per the practice, theannual Mahayagya was scheduled to be performed on 22 and 23 May. “Howeverdue to rescheduling of 23 May as counting day for the ensuing Lok Sabhaelections, and the counting center being in the vicinity of the temple atSKICC, the entire area from Dalgate Road and Gupkar Road-Nishat road is likelyto be sealed due to security reasons. It may not be possible for the yatris anddevotees to reach Zeathyar on 23 May,” the statement said.

   

“Keeping in view the situation and in order to enablethe devotees and yatris to attend in large numbers, it was unanimously decidedby the executive committee to slightly reschedule the Mahayagya from 22 May to25 May,  with Prasad vitran on 26 May.However the birthday of Mata i.e. 23 May shall be celebrated on its due datewith all its grace and gaiety and routine Bhajan and Kirtan,” thestatement said.

The statement said it was also decided that Yatris visitingthe shrine complex during annual Mahayagya will be provided with free boardingand lodging facility from 25 to 27 May. It said free shuttle service of vehiclewill be provided to Yatries from jetty point to temple and back on the Hawanday.

“Devotees who intend to participate in the birthday ofMata Zeashta/annual Mahayagya are requested to intimate their journey plan inadvance so that the committee can make elaborate arrangement for theirstay,” the statement added.
