The executive committee of Zeashta Devi Prabandhak Committee (ZDPC) reviewed preparations for annual Mahayagya scheduled to be held at Zeathyar here.
In a statement, general secretary of the committee Rakesh Koul said during the meeting it was conveyed to the members that this year the birthday of Mata Zeashta falls on 23 May. He said as per the practice, the annual Mahayagya was scheduled to be performed on 22 and 23 May. “However due to rescheduling of 23 May as counting day for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, and the counting center being in the vicinity of the temple at SKICC, the entire area from Dalgate Road and Gupkar Road-Nishat road is likely to be sealed due to security reasons. It may not be possible for the yatris and devotees to reach Zeathyar on 23 May,” the statement said.
“Keeping in view the situation and in order to enable the devotees and yatris to attend in large numbers, it was unanimously decided by the executive committee to slightly reschedule the Mahayagya from 22 May to 25 May, with Prasad vitran on 26 May. However the birthday of Mata i.e. 23 May shall be celebrated on its due date with all its grace and gaiety and routine Bhajan and Kirtan,” the statement said.
The statement said it was also decided that Yatris visiting the shrine complex during annual Mahayagya will be provided with free boarding and lodging facility from 25 to 27 May. It said free shuttle service of vehicle will be provided to Yatries from jetty point to temple and back on the Hawan day.
“Devotees who intend to participate in the birthday of Mata Zeashta/annual Mahayagya are requested to intimate their journey plan in advance so that the committee can make elaborate arrangement for their stay,” the statement added.
