District Magistrate Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has directed for felling of Russian poplars from across the district.
The departments concernedincluding Revenue and Forest have been directed to identify the trees andensure their felling from April 10 within shortest possible time.
The district administration has also appealed people toreport to the tehsil offices places wherever these trees exist. The decision toundertake immediate felling of the poplars has been taken in view of theprevailing health situation.
