Residents of various colonies in uptown Srinagar have appealed SSP Srinagar to direct concerned police officials to act against thieves involved in various burglaries.
They said the thieves are on prowl in several areasincluding Umarabad Sector A and B, Pirbagh, LD Colony Sanat Nagar which havewitnessed surge in thefts during last three months.
According to delegation from theses colonies, the thievesare looting houses at their own will and timing with no arrests being made sofar.
“We are calling our relatives from near and far to remaininside the houses since we fear that thieves may strike any of the houses inthese colonies as they have been doing these months,” said the members of thedelegation.
They have appealed SSP Srinagar and concerned SHO tointensify vigil and book the culprits so that there is end to the ongoingthefts in these colonies.
