1 shifted to Srinagar hospital for coronavirus test

A patient who was admitted three days back in the Baramulla District Hospital with common flu like symptoms has been shifted to Srinagar hospital for coronavirus test, confirmed hospital authorities.

Sources said the patient had earlier concealed informationabout his return from Saudi Arabia where he was on Umrah pilgrimage.

   

Soon after it surfaced that the patient had returned fromUmrah, he was immediately shifted to Srinagar hospital.

“We have shifted one patient to Srinagar hospital wheretest of the patient for coronavirus will be conducted,” confirmed MedicalSuperintendent Baramulla District Hospital, Dr Masood.

Sec 144 imposed in Ganderbal district:

Amid coronavirus scare, the district administrationGanderbal Monday imposed section 144 CrPc prohibiting gathering of more thanfour persons at public places with immediate effect. The order shall remain inoperation till 31st March 2020.

The order was issued by the District Magistrate Ganderbalunder number 224/DCG of 2020 dated 16 March 2020.

“Whereas the COVID-19 has a pattern of transmission ata rapid rate, therefore, prescribed preventive protocol, including avoidingmass gathering, etc. is to be strictly adhered to. So there is an urgent needto take further preventive measures” reads the order issued by DMGanderbalShafqat Iqbal.

“Prohibitory orders as a precautionary measure havebeen imposed in Ganderbal district in view of the prevailing health emergencydue to the coronavirus outbreak” Iqbal told Greater Kashmir. (With IRFANRAINA in Ganderbal)
