14 COVID19 deaths, toll 351

Kashmir division continued to witness a high number of COVID19 deaths with 13 people succumbing to viral illness here on Wednesday. One person lost life in Jammu division, the death toll in J&K reaching 351.

A day after his death, the Bandipora doctor who lost life on Tuesday was included among COVID19 deaths by J&K Government.

   

Among the fresh deaths was a Hawal Srinagar resident who died at SKIMS yesterday, an official said. He said the patient was known to have hypothyroidism and was 60 year old.

Another 60 year old from Rajouri Kadal Srinagar resident died also at SKIMS, late Tuesday evening. The patient was admitted with pneumonia in both lungs on 16 July.

Late Tuesday evening, a resident of Zaina Kadal, 62, died at SMHS Hospital, while a Lal Bazar resident had died late afternoon at SKIMS.

With these deaths, the mortality in Srinagar district crossed 100 mark and reached 103.

Another Bandipora resident, 65 year old male, died at SKIMS. He was admitted for treatment of cancer, a doctor at the hospital said, adding that he had tested COVID19 positive.

Two people from Kupwara district, who had died earlier were counted today among COVID19 deaths. While a 70 year old died at community health center Kupwara on 27 July, a 72 year old man from Lolab area died while in home quarantine on 23 July.

A 70 year old woman from Delina Baramulla died at GMC Baramulla today. The patient was admitted with bilateral pneumonia on 26 July, a health official said.

A 75 year old from Kreeri Baramulla also lost his life at the medical college hospital. The patient, a male, was also admitted with pneumonia a day before he expired.

A 52 year old woman from Budgam’s Jawalapora area died at SMHS Hospital where she was admitted for treatment on 23 July. She was a diabetic, a doctor said.

Three Anantnag residents lost life in the past 24 hours, health officials said. All the three were aged 65 and lost life at three different hospitals. While one was a resident of Katsoo area and was admitted at SMHS Hospital, another was a resident of Mattan area and was being treated at SKIMS. The third one was a resident of Raniora and was admitted at GMC Anantnag.

Another 65 year old from Kunzar Baramulla died at SMHS Hospital late Wednesday evening. A doctor said the deceased was admitted three days ago with COVID19 pneumonia.

A Jammu resident also lost life to the viral illness, J&K Government said. The deceased was 79 years old  and a resident of Talab Tillo area in Jammu City. He was admitted in the Isolation Ward of the GMC Jammu Hospital.
