Another spike of 1686 COVID19 cases and 14 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the health department’s figures, the total number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours was 27899. Jammu recorded 875 and Kashmir reported 811 fresh cases on Sunday, with it the total number of COVID positive cases in Kashmir region has crossed 36,000 mark.
The total number of COVID cases in J&K has reached 54,096, of which 36708 are from Kashmir division and 17388 from Jammu division.
Sunday marked the 11th day in a row when the cases reported were above 1000 mark. In 13 days of this month, the COVID cases have accumulated by over 16000.
With another spike, the recovery rate of COVID patients has plummeted by one more percent to 66 percent, it was 67 percent on Saturday.
Srinagar reported 185 cases, Budgam 158, Baramulla 79, Pulwama 44, Anantnag 47, Kupwara 62, Bandipora 128, Kulgam 22, Ganderbal 78, Shopian 8, Jammu 405, Udhampur 56, Rajouri 70, Kathua 48, Samba 29, Poonch 79, Ramban 31, Doda 94, Reasi 18 and Kishtwar 45.
Moreover 452 more COVID19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals— 146 from Jammu Division and 306 from Kashmir Valley.
14 COVID deaths:
Jammu and Kashmir reported 14 deaths on Sunday of which 8 were reported from Jammu division and 6 from Kashmir division.
In Kashmir region, out of six deaths, three were reported from Srinagar district – a 60-year old male from Bemina, a 65-year old male from Indra Nagar and third death was reported from Nowgam, where a 71 year old male died due to COVID. All the three deaths were reported from SMHS hospital.
A 70-year old male from Nambalnar Tangmarg, district Baramulla who was suffering from renal failure passed away at SKIMS.
A 70-year old male from Shangus Anantnag died due to respiratory failure at GMC Anantnag, he was tested positive on September 11.
A 70-year old male from Wanihama Check Budgam died at home, the sample was tested at SDH Beerwah.
In Jammu division, eight deaths were reported of which three deaths each were reported from Jammu and Rajouri districts and one death each from Kathua and Kishtwar.
