3069 people encroached 25,833 kanals of Govt land in Jammu

As many as 3069 people have been shown as encroachers of more than 25,833 kanals of state land in five teshils of Jammu district, where as the revenue authorities have released a fresh list of 5 encroachers on Government land.

Revenue authorities today released another list of encroachers on state land in Jammu district’s Sunjwan and Channi Rama areas.

   

In this list, the officials said that over 23 kanals of the state land has been encroached physically, but it was not shown on revenue records.

As per the details available with the Greater Kashmir a Lamberdar of Dungian, Jamat Ali, has encroached 8 kanals of land at Sunjwan, a retired DIG has encroached 3 kanals of land in Channi Rama, a retired DFO has encroached 1 kanal of state land at Channi Rama, a showroom i.e. Shuhul has been established on 2 kanal of encroached land at Channi Rama, retired forest officer Sultan Ali has encroached 9 kanals of land at Channi Rama.

Meanwhile, the revenue department has released a list of encroachers on state land but the land is recorded in the revenue records, unlike above. In four tehsils of Jammu district i.e. Bhalwal, Maira Mandrian, Jammu North, Jammu West and Jammu South, 3069 people have been shown as encroachers of more than 25,833 kanals of state land.

From Bhalwal Tehsil of Jammu District, the revenue department has uploaded a list of 1425 people who have encroached 15, 653 kanals and 15 marlas state land. Majority of the encroachers were shown as farmers by profession.

Similarly, 383 people have encroached 3870 kanals and 3 marlas of state land in Maira Mandrian in Jammu district.

In Jammu North, 664 encroachers have been identified and they have encroached 2835 kanals of state land. This land is being used for agriculture, residential, commercial and other purposes by the encroachers, as per the revenue department documents.

Similar details from Jammu West revealed that 88 people have encroached 514 kanals and 5 marlas of the state land in villages like Chak Lal Din, Dei Chak, Bhadrore, Tarlokpur and Gole.

In Jammu South, 854 people have encroached more than 2961 kanals of land.
