Four youth from south Kashmir’s Shopian district have gone missing in Delhi since November 24.

Four families— two from Chakoora village and one each from Shallatoo and Sharatpora villages— on Tuesday informed the police station Shopian about the missing of their children from Delhi.

The missing youth have been identified as: Dawood Ahmad Thoker son of Mohammed Yousuf Thoker, Yawar Ghulam son of Ghulam Mohammed Wani both residents of Chakoora Shopian; Sumair Ahmad Shah son of Abdul Hamid Shah of Shallatoo and Arif Bilal Dar of Sharatpora, Shopian.

A family member said that Dawood, a truck driver had unloaded his apple laden truck at Azadpur Mandi on November 24 and went to market along with Yawar to purchase spices.  “Since then we did not hear from them,” he said.

He said that Yawar is an apple grower and had accompanied  Dawood on his trip to Delhi.

Sumair along with Arif had left for Delhi on November 23 from Jalhander, where the former pursues a course in nursing.

Their distraught families said that they reached Delhi on November 24.  “We do not know their whereabouts since,”  they said, adding that they had been at Jamia Masjid when they last time spoke to them via a video call  on the day.
