6 killed, 11 injured in Ramban road accidents

Six people were killed and 11 others injured in three separate road accidents since Monday evening in Ramban district.

A police official said that a Sumo taxi (No. JK19-3718) thatwas on way to Senabati from Ramban skidded off a link road at Pingloga, leadingto death of three occupants and injuries to five others.

   

The deceased were identified as Milap Singh, 45, son of AmarNath, a resident of village Bass tehsil Pogal Paristan; Keshav Ram, 45, son ofBrij Lal of Hella, Pogal and Raju, 24, son of Shanker Dass of Gram Risartan,Bhagwa in Ramban district.

The injured are driver Riyaz Ahmed son of Mohiuddin ofChulli Senabati; Kartar Singh son of Sant Ram of Hella Senabatti; PhulawarSingh son of Mahant Singh of Halla Senabati; Hari Om son of Dharam Singh ofHella and Kalyan Singh son of Sham Singh of Hella Senabati. They were firstshifted to District Hospital Ramban where they were administered first aid andthen referred to the Government Medical College Hospital Jammu for specializedtreatment.

Another Sumo taxi (No. JK19-3127), travelling from Sumber toRamban, also met with an accident at Kanga, resulting in death of twopassengers identified as constable Bittu Ram who was posted at Police StationDharamkund and Nek Ram son of Duni Chand of Champa Batote.

A couple, Darshan Singh and his wife Deepa Devi, residentsof village Haroog, were injured and shifted to the Government Medical Collegeand Hospital Jammu in critical condition.

The other four injured were identified as Muhammad Qayoomson of Ali Muhammad, a resident of Maitra Ramban; Mushtaq Ahmed son ofRoshandin of Sumber, Ranjeet Singh son of Durgadass of Sangaldan and MuhammadAslam son of Bashir Ahmed of Sumber.

The police have registered two FIRs at Ramsu and Dhramkundpolice stations respectively under relevant sections of law.

After performing medico-legal formalities, the bodies of thedeceased were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites.In the third accident, a man named Sandeep Singhson of Mohan Singh of Kelamorh, Ramban, died when an unknown vehicle hit thebike he was riding on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on early Tuesdaymorning.
