Governor’s Advisor Farooq Ahmad Khan on Sunday visited Deputy Inspector General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Amit Kumar at AIIMS in New Delhi to inquire about his health condition.
An official said that Khan spent some time with the injured police officer and wished him speedy recovery.
Khan, a 1994-batch IPS officer, was appointed as the fifth Advisor of Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Saturday.
It may be recalled that DIG Amit Kumar had received gunshot wound in the abdomen on 18 February this year in an encounter with militants in Pinglan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. He was airlifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for specialised treatment.
