An army soldier who was injured in a gunfight with militants in Kanigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday died of his injuries on Monday.
A police official said that Hawaldar Anil Kumar succumbed to his injuries at army’s 92-base hospital Srinagar. Kumar and another soldier had sustained injuries during the gun battle on December 25.
Two local militants affiliated with Al-Badar militant outfit were killed in the gunfight.
