BJP welcomes move

Bhartiya Janta Party on Wednesday welcomed the new domicile law for J&K.

“We whole-heartedly welcome the decision on domicile,” BJPGeneral Secretary Ashok Kaul told the Greater Kashmir. “The order has come latethough, we expected it earlier.”

   

He said that Narendra Modi-led government had brought peaceand prosperity to Jammu and Kashmir. “Every body must welcome the order.”

Kaul said that the applicability of the Constitution to Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in toto and consequential abolition of “discriminatory” Articles 370 and 35A as also erstwhile State Constitution is the biggest constitutional change since independence. “This huge development has taken place to give justice and equality to all Indians, including residents of Jammu Kashmir, and Ladakh. This will ensure all round development and equality in all regions of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The senior BJP leader said that they are expectingannouncement of statehood to J&K in near future. “That too will happensoon.”

He said PM Narendra Modi has shared his vision andcommitment for the development of J&K and Ladakh. “Peace, prosperity andwelfare of these regions is the top most priority for Prime Minister NarendraModi,” Kaul said.

“The government is already working to protect, to maximumpermissible limit under the Constitution of India parameters, the right oflocal population for land ownership, industries and jobs and there is no needfor any person to worry,” he said.

“Jammu and Kashmir is in the safest hands of Prime MinisterNarendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah,” Ashok Kaul said.
