The School Education Department Sunday clarified that the annual exams of class 8th will continue to be conducted by the State Institute of Education (SIE).
An official said that some confusion has been created aboutthe announcement made by Governor’s Advisor Khursheed Ahmad Ganai regardingconduct of exams for lower classes.
“The class 8th exams will continue to be conducted by SIE.The exams for class 5th to 7th will be conducted at school-level for which thedepartment will come with the details,” the official said.
Earlier, some confusion was created among masses that theschools have been authorised to hold class 8th annual exams. “There is no truthin it. The class 8th exam is a minor board exam and will be conducted by SIE,”the official said.
