Traffic jams between Nashri to Banihal along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway gave tough time to the drivers and the passengers on Saturday.
Passengers complained that massive traffic jams from Banihaltown to Ramsu along the highway have become a common sight.
They said there are scores of places from Banihal to Nashritunnel which serve as bottlenecks hindering the smooth traffic movement.
They alleged that the authorities were not takingappropriate steps to deal with these traffic jams. “The traffic police men actas a mute spectator and instead of regulating the traffic they are seengossiping with each other,” they said.
The commuters urged the traffic police and the contractorcompanies to remove all encroachments from the road. “The authorities shouldclear the mounds and boulders from the road to help traffic run smoothly,” theysaid.
