CRPF officer wounded in Anantnag grenade attack

A Sub-Inspector of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was wounded in a grenade attack in Sangam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

A police official said that militants lobbed a grenade towards a CRPF naka party of 89 Battalion in the evening hours.

   

“They also fired a few rounds which was retaliated,” he said.

A police official said a SI rank CRPF official sustained injuries and was shifted to SDH Bijbehara.

Soon after the attack government forces cordoned the area and launched searches to nab the assailants.
