Dastardly act, says J&K Governor

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik Sunday strongly condemned the blasts in Sri Lanka in which more than 200 people were killed.

In his message, the Governor expressed shock and anguishover the serial blasts at churches and hotels in Sri Lanka in which innocent liveswere lost, and many were injured. “We stand in solidarity with the people ofSri Lanka,” he said in a statement.

   

Calling it a “heinous act which attempts to spread fear andhatred”, the Governor said that the “whole world shall stand united in the fightagainst terrorism”.

The Governor conveyed his heartfelt condolences to thefamilies bereaved in this dastardly attack and wished speedy recovery to thoseinjured, the statement read.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz UmarFarooq also condemned the Sri Lanka blasts.

“Saddened and condemn the multiple bomb blasts in Sri Lankaincluding at places of worship in which more than 200 lives were lost andhundreds injured. Our thoughts and prayers with the bereaved families and theinjured,” he said.
