The 434-km Srinagar-Leh highway remained closed for traffic on the fourth consecutive day Thursday. The road was closed Monday as a precautionary measure after the Zojila pass had received fresh snowfall.
A border roads organisation official told Greater Kashmir that if weather conditions remained favourable one-way traffic shall be allowed on Friday. He said the snow clearance work has been completed.
SHO police station Sonamarg, Lateef Ali said that the road remained closed as of now. “We are awaiting green signal from BRO after which the traffic will be allowed.”
