Delhi court sends Yasin Malik to judicial custody till May 24

A Delhi court Wednesday sent JKLF chief Yasin Malik, arrested in connection with alleged militant funding case, to judicial custody till May 24.

Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Syal also sought reply fromthe defence counsel on a plea of Tihar jail authorities seeking to produceMalik through video conference due to security concerns.

   

The court had sent Malik to NIA custody. He was brought toNew Delhi after a court in Kashmir granted his transit remand to the NationalInvestigation Agency.

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has reserved its judgmenton a CBI plea for reopening three-decade-old cases in which Malik was anaccused.

Last week, the family of Yasin Malik had said that he was ‘seriously ill’ following a hunger strike in the custody over his “illegal” detention.
