The election commission of India has appointed three “special observers” for the forthcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
These include Amarjit Singh Gill, former director general, CRPF and former IAS officers Noor Mohammad and VinodZutshi.
Gill has worked as IG, CRPF in Jammu and Kashmir, while Noor Muhammad, former secretary, has worked for more than a decade in the field of election management, as chief electoral officer of UP, deputy election commissioner in the Election Commission, senior consultant in India International Institute of Democracy & Election Management and international consultant on elections in Afghanistan.
Zutshi, a former secretary in the central government, also has wide experience of more than a decade in elections at the state-level as well as at the Commission level. The three special observers will soon have a meeting in the Commission before visiting Jammu and Kashmir.
