Families seek FIR against guilty

With DNA samples of all three youth killed in July 18 Shopian fake encounter matching their families, the families today said that truth can never be killed or hushed and called for immediate handover of bodies so that their burial can be performed.

“Truth can never be killed. From day one we were saying that the three are our boys,” Mohammad Yousuf, father of Ibrar Ahmed, killed in the fake encounter, said.

“They were our boys and how could someone even imagine that we cannot recognise their bodies from photographs,” Yousuf said.

He added that the bodies of the trio should be handed over to families “so that we can perform burial and Nimaz-e- Janaza in our ancestral graveyard.”

Yousaf called for immediate registration of FIR against those involved in this fake encounter and killing three innocent youth of poor families.

Ibrar’s wife called for justice saying three innocent youth have been killed in a staged encounter.

“I call for justice for my husband as well as for other two boys who all have been killed in encounter and were termed as militants despite trio were innocent and without any involvement in any militancy act,” said Ibrar’s wife.

Salim, another local and relative of all three, termed matching of DNA samples as a curtain raiser which shall prove that trio were innocent.

“They were innocent and have been killed in a staged encounter but we are hopeful that both army and police will take the probes to logical conclusion and will provide us justice,” said Salim.

Meanwhile, officials said that police have started an exercise to probe past record of the trio for which communication has been made to all the police stations across Jammu and Kashmir.
