Farooq Khan taking over as Chief Security Advisor

Lakshadweep Administrator Farooq Khan is likely to take over next week as the Chief Security Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Satya Pal Malik, sources said here.

They said former Inspector General of Police Khan, a 1994-batch IPS officer and present administrator of Lakshadweep, is likely to join as the top security advisor to the J&K Governor next week.

“Orders to this effect are being issued shortly,” sources added.

Talking to Greater Kashmir over phone, former top cop said, “ I have resigned as Lakshadweep Administrator. So far no orders have been issued for my next assignment.”

Khan retired from service in 2013 and later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
