Another spell of snowfall in higher reaches and rainfall in low lying areas have knocked normal life out of gear in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
Heavy snowfall at higher reaches of Rajouri and Poonch started in the wee hours of Saturday and continued till evening.
“All the upper reaches have received heavy snowfall between two to three feet,” officials said.
Deputy SP Traffic, Rajouri-Poonch, Mohammad Zubair Mirza said that other roads are open for traffic but National Highway connecting Rajouri and Poonch with Jammu divisional headquarter remained closed for two hours.
Station House Officer Thanamandi, Fareed Ahmed, informed that the road between Thanamandi and Surankote via DKG pass is closed for traffic due to fresh snowfall at DKG top.
Deputy SP HQ Poonch, Mudassir Ahmed, informed the Greater Kashmir that heavy snowfall has taken place at Loran and Saujiyan Mandi areas of Poonch but all main roads are open as of now with no loss of life or property reported so far.
