Governor expresses grief, announces ex-gratia

Governor Satya Pal Malik has expressed grief over the loss of lives in a road accident in  Shopian district.

In a condolence message, Governor has conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

The Governor announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased. He directed the administration to provide best medical treatment to the injured in the accident and wished speedy recovery to them.

National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and vice president Omar Abdullah expressed sorrow over the accident.

The duo in their message prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the grief stricken families to bear the inconsolable loss.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti expressed grief over the loss of lives, expressing concern over the recurring road accidents in the mountainous regions of the state.
