Govt deploys 4 Secretaries to Civil Secretariat Srinagar

The General Administration Department (GAD) has deployed four administrative secretaries to Civil Secretariat Srinagar that will start partial functioning from May 4.

The move has been taken in view of Covid-19 pandemic as thegovernment had deferred the biannual Darbar Move from Jammu to Srinagar tillmid-June. The main offices of the Civil Secretariat shall continue working fromthe winter capital Jammu.

   

As per the GAD order issued today, Dr Asgar Samoon has beenmade in-charge of Civil Secretariat Srinagar in addition to his regular worksas Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education Department andTransport Department. Dr Samoon will also monitor permitted development orconstruction activities in Budgam, Anantnag and Kulgam.

Sarmad Hafiz has been tasked to supervise and coordinateestates related issues of the secretariat, in addition to his regular works asSecretary Youth Services and Sports Department.

Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed has been assigned task to supervise andcoordinate health related issues of the employees, in addition to his regularworks as Commissioner Secretary, Department of Floriculture, Parks and Gardens.He will also monitor permitted development and construction activities inBandipora and Kulgam. Zubair Ahmed will supervise and coordinate the attendanceand transport of employees of the secretariat, in addition to his regular worksas Secretary to the Government, Department of Culture and Tourism. He willmonitor permitted developmental or construction activities in Baramulla,Shopian and Pulwama.

The GAD had earlier appointed 14 gazetted officers and 215non-gazetted officers in Srinagar’s civil secretariat to make the move officesfunctional.

The officials have told the Greater Kashmir that the mainoffices will remain in Jammu’s Civil Secretariat where from they will superviseand monitor the works being done under Dr Asgar Samoon till the final decisionis taken on June 15.
