Militants lobbed a grenade on Awantipora police station in southern Pulwama district on Monday, official sources said.
The grenade, hurled at around 7.45pm, exploded with a bangbut no loss of life or damage was reported, they said
The attackers, they said, managed to escape from the spot.
Following the attack, security forces rushed to the spot andlaunched searches to nab the attackers.
Senior superintendent of police Awantipora Tahir Saleem Khandenied the attack.
“No attack happened on our police station,” he said.
