Highway restored at Panthyal

Several passengers had a miraculous escape after the car they were travelling in was trapped under a landslide at Panthyal on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Friday.

As soon as the highway was restored for vehicular traffic after remaining disrupted for more than two days, landslide and stones abruptly started sliding. The occupants jumped out from the car in time.

   

The vehicle has sustained some damages, however the occupants remained unhurt.

The car was toe-chained by JCB after some time and traffic was resumed on the highway that got disrupted for a brief period till Friday afternoon.

Now the traffic is moving from both the sides on the highway despite stones and boulders sliding down occasionally at this place, informed a traffic police official regulating traffic at Panthyal.
