Indo-Pak armies trade fire along LoC

The armies of India and Pakistan on Saturday morning exchanged heavy gunfire along the Line of Control in Nowshera and Mendhar areas of Rajouri and Poonch districts, an official said. He said that the cross border firing started in Baba Khori area of Nowshera sector and Krishna GhatiMankote and Mendhar areas about 9 AM. “Both small arms as well as heavy weapons were used by both sides,” he added.

The official said that Panchayat representative,ZaffarUllah, of Balnoi area in Krishna Ghati sector sustained injuries in theshelling. He was rushed to district hospital Poonch for specialisedtreatment.  “The cross LoC shellingcontinued for over eight hours,” he added.
