Justice will be done: Divisional Commissioner

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Monday said that J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik has issued clear-cut directions to police and the administration to conduct the probe into the alleged rape of a three-year-old girl in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on fast-track basis. Khan while appealing for calm and peace across Kashmir assured that the investigation into the incident will be taken to its logical end and the guilty will be booked as per the law.

Addressing the media men here, the Divisional Commissionerwhile terming the incident as very unfortunate appealed people to maintainpeace at all levels and to remain calm.

   

“People should keep their faith in the administration andthe police. Probe into the incident is already in full swing. I assure peopleof Kashmir that justice will be done and whosoever is the guilty, will bebrought to book as per the law,” he said.

The Divisional Commissioner said that there are clear-cutdirections from the Governor Malik to conduct the probe into the heartbreakingincident on fast-track basis. “Police and the administration are already on joband I assure the people of Kashmir justice will be done very soon,” he said,adding that he was monitoring the investigations himself.

Khans said the probe will be conducted in a time-boundmanner.

The alleged rape of a three-year-old girl of north Kashmir’sBandipora district has triggered widespread anger across Kashmir.

Meanwhile, an official spokesman said that anybody having”grievances” with regard to Bandipora incident, can “personally contact theDivisional Commissioner Kashmir immediately”.
