Ladakh sees rise in number of COVID deaths

The Ladakh union territory which saw only one death due to COVID19 since the outbreak of the pandemic, has seen a rise in the number of deaths in the past one month.

Official sources told Greater Kashmir that in the past one month the Ladakh union territory reported eighteen COVID deaths including seven (7) in Leh and eleven (11) in Kargil district.

   

The total cases in Ladakh has also crossed 2000 mark and so far there are 2087 confirmed positive cases of COVID19, out of these 1436 patients have recovered so far. With this, the number of COVID-19 active cases in UT Ladakh is 623 including 356 in Leh and 267 in Kargil district.

Commissioner Secretary Health Ladakh, Rigzin Samphel, was not available for his comments.
