Traffic along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway was suspended Monday after a landslide blocked the road at Digdool area in Ramban district, officials said.
The landslide occurred between Ramban and Ramsu at around 12.10pm, an official said. “The highway could not be instantly restored as shooting stones hampered the road clearance operation,” he said.
He said hundreds of vehicles remained stranded betweenDigdool, Ramsu and Digdool following the road closure.
