Heavy rains triggered landslides at several places along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway affecting the thin vehicular traffic.
The landslides occurred between Ramban and Banihal and Peeraand Dalwass due to heavy rains that lashed the area since Thursday. The trafficwas halted Friday evening due to landslides.
The National Highway Authority of India pressed into servicemen and machinery for clearing the landslides after receiving request from thepolice.
Meanwhile, a body was fished out from river Chenab near Serifalling under Ramban police station jurisdiction.
