Bharatiya Janata Party national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain Thursday claimed the saffron party’s symbol of lotus was blooming in Kashmir.
“We are doing well aspeople have voted for us in last two phases,” Shahnawaz told reporters here,referring to the first two phases of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
“Lotus is blooming in Kashmir,” he said.
“Because of ourpolicies and development people have developed faith in BJP,” Shahnawaz claimed.”More and more people especially youth are joining us,” he added.
The senior BJP leader claimed that a Modi wave is blowingacross India and that the party would win more seats than in 2014.
“From Kashmir to Kanyakumari it is Modi and Modi,” he said.
Reacting over Omar Abdullah’s demand to cancel bail ofPragya Singh Thakur after she was nominated as BJP candidate from Bhopal,Shahnawaz said, “He (Omar) must not poke his nose in our internal matters. Itseems he has forgotten that he was once our ally.”
Abdullah had remarked that Thakur had been given bail onhealth grounds, and so, if she was fit enough to contest elections, she must befit enough to be in jail too.
Omar had called it a “mockery of the legal system” by theBJP.
“A person, an under-trial, who stands accused of terrorism;out on bail on health grounds but clearly healthy enough to fight elections inthe crippling summer heat,” Omar tweeted, adding, “Hindutva rules!”
