‘Moon not sighted, Ramadan to begin from Tuesday’

Chairman Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti MuneeburRehman has announced that the moon for the month of Ramadan was not sighted on Sunday, and that the holy month will begin from Tuesday.

“No acceptable testimonies of moon sighting were receivedfrom any part of Pakistan,” said Rehman. “This was a decision taken throughmutual cooperation and after [incorporating] expert advice.”

   

Meanwhile, a meeting of Ruyat-e-Hilal Committee,Imarat-e-Sharaiyah-Hind was held today at the central office ofJamiatUlama-i-Hind in New Delhi.

“It was decided to announce that the moon has not beensighted in Delhi and there was no report of moon from any part of the Country.MaulanaMuizuddinRuyat-e-Hilal Committee, Imarat-e-Sharaiyah-Hind, hastherefore, declared that the 1st Ramadan falls on Tuesday 07th May beginningday of fasting,” Muizuddin Ahmad secretary, Ruyat-e-Hilal Committee said in astatement.
