NIA summons KEA chairman Yaseen Khan

The National Investigation Agency Tuesday summoned to its New Delhi office the Kashmir Economic Alliance chairman Muhammad Yaseen Khan in an alleged funding case.

The summons have been served to him by the district policeSrinagar on Tuesday, asks him to present himself at NIA’s office on Thursdaymorning.

   

This is the second time Yaseen has been summoned by the NIAfor questioning. In September 2017, he was questioned for five consecutive daysby the probe agency in the funding case. A shutdown had been observed againsthis questioning by Kashmir traders then.

In the same case, NIA has also summoned Syed Ali Geelani’sson Naeem Geelani on April 22.

It is the second summons by the NIA to Naeem, a doctor byprofession who is presently posted at the JLNM hospital in Srinagar.

Geelani’s younger son Naseem has already been questioned bythe NIA in relation with the case.

Last week, senior separatist leader and cleric Mirwaiz UmarFarooq was questioned by NIA at its headquarters in the national capital.

Mirwaiz had earlier defied two summons of NIA and refused totravel to Delhi citing security concerns.

However, after NIA assured him of security, he travelled toNew Delhi last week and was questioned by NIA officials for three days.
