The National Investigation Agency Tuesday summoned to its New Delhi office the Kashmir Economic Alliance chairman Muhammad Yaseen Khan in an alleged funding case.
The summons have been served to him by the district police Srinagar on Tuesday, asks him to present himself at NIA’s office on Thursday morning.
This is the second time Yaseen has been summoned by the NIA for questioning. In September 2017, he was questioned for five consecutive days by the probe agency in the funding case. A shutdown had been observed against his questioning by Kashmir traders then.
In the same case, NIA has also summoned Syed Ali Geelani’s son Naeem Geelani on April 22.
It is the second summons by the NIA to Naeem, a doctor by profession who is presently posted at the JLNM hospital in Srinagar.
Geelani’s younger son Naseem has already been questioned by the NIA in relation with the case.
Last week, senior separatist leader and cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was questioned by NIA at its headquarters in the national capital.
Mirwaiz had earlier defied two summons of NIA and refused to travel to Delhi citing security concerns.
However, after NIA assured him of security, he travelled to New Delhi last week and was questioned by NIA officials for three days.
