Traffic police on Tuesday said that subject to fair weather and clearance of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Digdole, only stranded vehicles shall be allowed towards Jammu on Wednesday (May 15).
In a statement a spokesman of the department said that light motor vehicles shall ply towards Jammu from 0500 hours to 0900 hours and heavy motor vehicles from 0900 hours to 1600 hours on Mughal Road, which connects south Kashmir’s Shopian district with Poonch in Jammu.
“Only one-way traffic shall be allowed on the highway and no vehicle shall be allowed after cut of timings,” the statement added.
About Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari road, the statement said that only one way traffic for both light and heavy motor vehicles from 0700 hours to 1000 hours (LMVs) and 1000 hours to 1300 hours (HMVs) shall be allowed from Sonamarg.
Meanwhile, the commuters have been advised not to travel during night hours.
“People are advised to undertake journey on National Highway-44/Mughal Road/SSG road only after confirming the status of the road from traffic control units established by the government,” it said.
