Unidentified gunmen on Saturday evening shot at and injured an activist of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Jablipora village of Bijbehara in Anantnag district.
A source said the masked gunmen fired upon Abdul Qayoom Pandith son of Ghulam Mohidin Pandith outside his home, leaving him in a pool of blood.
He said that Pandith, a contractor by profession, was rushedto sub district hospital Bijbehara for treatment where from he was referred toBone and Joint hospital Srinagar. “He has bullet injuries in his leg andhis condition is stable” said an official.
A senior police officer said, “Police have taken thecognizance and investigations are on.” Soon after the incident security forces launched searches in the area tonab the attackers.
