Scores of people in Ramban district Wednesday faced huge inconvenience due to closure of the national highway for civilian vehicles.
A complete ban was imposed on movement of civilian trafficfrom Nashri to Jawahar tunnel from 5am to 5pm, local residents told GreaterKashmir.
They alleged that students, patients and governmentemployees were not allowed to move along the national highway by the police.
The district authorities have not evolved any procedures formovement of people in case of emergencies, as has been done by the Kashmirdivisional administration, the local residents said, and urged the governmentto revoke the ban as “it is causing tremendous hardships to the generalpublic.”
