Reveal travel history or face action: Police

Jammu Police issues statement to dispel 'misinformation' regarding death of person in custody

While the restrictions continue in Kashmir, the J&K Police on Wednesday asked the people to disclose their their travel history to stop the spread of COVID19 or face legal action.

“We have been appealing the people from last fortnight toreveal travel history otherwise we will take legal action against them,”Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar told the Greater Kashmir.

   

He said that police was helping the administration to findout the people across Kashmir who attended a religious gathering in New Delhi.”With most corona cases in Kashmir having history of direct or indirect contactwith members from that religious gathering, we will have to search thepersons,” he said.

IGP said that district magistrates have been appealing tothe members who were a part of the gathering to identify themselves for puttingthem under surveillance isolation and quarantine. “We are taking the mattervery seriously that can save the people from deadly virus,” he said adding thatalthough initially there was some reluctance shown by the people to reveal theirtravel histories but now more and more people were coming forward.
