Rumours on Shopian encounter being fake can be an attempt to deteriorate situation: Advisor Khan

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Farooq Ahmad Tuesday said that rumours about Shopian encounter being fake “can also be an attempt to disrupt peace in Kashmir”.

“Look what you are calling a staged encounter, this news is only being spread on social media. But let me reiterate through your medium these rumours on social media can again be an attempt to deteriorate the situation in the valley,” Khan said.

   

He was replying to a query by media persons if J&K government would order an inquiry into alleged fake encounter in Shopian last month in which three persons were killed.

“Yes there are reports that three persons have gone missing and in this regard, an inquiry is already going on and facts will soon come to fore,” he said.

Khan said any conspiracy to disrupt peace and order would be dealt with an iron hand.

The families of three persons from Rajouri have lodged a report with police about missing of their kin.
