The government has decided to suspend classwork in all educational institutions in the Valley on Friday while as restrictions on the movement of people have been imposed in Downtown Srinagar.
“Class work will remain suspended in all schools, colleges and universities on Friday,” divisional commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Khan, told Greater Kashmir.
The decision has been taken in the wake of the killing of militant commander Zakir Musa in an encounter with security forces on Thursday.
SSP Srinagar, Haseeb Mughal, said restrictions will be put in place in Downtown Srinagar. Meanwhile, nocturnal protests erupted at the Zakura campus of the Kashmir University wherein students raised slogans against Musa’s killing.
