SMC sanitises District Court Complex Srinagar

Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Saturday carried special sanitisation drive at Srinagar district court complex after two judicial officers tested positive for coronavirus.

A special chemical recommended by experts was used in today’s fumigation and sterilization. The standard procedure was adopted in the entire process, said an official.

   

The court reopened recently for taking up matters at district court complex Srinagar as during COVID19 lockdown period it was working via virtual mode.

For allowing smooth sterilisation and fumigation of the court complex, the district court functioned Saturday via virtual mode for a day.

SMC teams engaged in this operation were provided all necessary and precautionary equipment to ensure they didn’t contract infection, if any.

SMC official informed that official residence of judicial officers was also sterilised and sanitised.

SMC enforcement officer Choudhary Mehraj-u-Din Buja who supervise the operations, said that special sterilization drive was also carried in some other areas of Srinagar where patients were tested positive past evening.

He said in view of surge in COVID19 positive cases, the SMC has also intensified its precautionary operations across the municipal limits.

He informed that garbage collection points and dumpsters are also now being sterilized and sanitized on daily basis. “All these activities are norm now as precautionary measure against coronavirus,” Buja said.
