An army soldier committed suicide by shooting himself at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopain district late on Wednesday night, police said.
A police official said that Chandra Patil of 62 Headquarters shot himself dead with his service rifle in Kathawhalan village of the district.
He said that a case was registered in this regard to “investigate the motive behind his taking such a drastic step”.
