On the directions of authorities, vehicular traffic movement on vital Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was suspended between Jakhani Udhampur to Jawahar Tunnel for repairs on Friday.
Earlier the highway closures were ordered till November 30 on every Friday, however a modified order was issued by the administration and the ban on traffic for every Friday was extended till December 30, 2020.
TRAFFIC PLAN FOR DECEMBER 26:
Subject to fair weather and better road condition, Heavy and Light Motor Vehicles shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu on Saturday, an advisory said. The cut off timing fixed for LMVs from Zig (Qazigund) is 7am to 12 pm whereas cut off timing fixed for HMVs/Load Carriers is up to 2 pm.
However fresh /perishable carriers/Oil tankers shall be allowed in the opposite direction subject to traffic situation.
