Army fired in air after a vehicle allegedly jumped a checkpoint in Trenz Rampora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday evening. The forces later seized the vehicle in a nearby village.
A police official said that army men waved down an SUV vehicle at around 4 pm.
“The vehicle, however, did not stop and whizzed past, forcing the soldiers to fire some shots in air”, said the police official.
He said that the vehicle was immediately chased and later found deserted in nearby Pargochi village.
The area, according to the official, was cordoned off and a door to door search operation was launched.
